During 2009 more than twenty types of courses of Spanish for students in diverse modalities have been taught at Lingua: quarterly, intensive, made-to-measure, for specific purposes, one to one, for Erasmus students and for immigrants, with a total figure of 2000 students from more than 50 countries.

As far as teachers’ training is concerned, in 2009 some specific courses have taken place: training of Greek teachers in Athens (thanks to the agreement between Lingua and the Spanish Ministry of Education), training of American and Canadian teachers of Spanish (usually summer courses), and training of the teaching staff of Lingua associated centres. By the end of the year, another training course will be given in Teresina, Brazil and the First Cycle of Lectures about Spanish as a Foreign Language will be opened, lasting till the end of the school year in 2010 the topic being, “Learning Spanish as a Second Language in specific contexts”.
